Quote of the day 3/18/2009

"Victory belongs to the most persevering." - Napoleon

I am sure this is not Napoleon's meaning of this quote however, I post this one today because I am reading a relationship book called Love and Respect and this relates so well to the point of the book that who you are a partner ultimately has nothing to do with your partner. Your alone are accountable for your actions as a partner regardless of your partners actions. Therefore, if you can be the partner you're meant to be, be responsible for your own actions and then Persevere, your relationship will be successful.

I seems incredibly too easy to decide to stop working on a relationships. But the only way to reap the reward is to Persevere and reach the 50th anniversary, sit on the porch and feel the love and pride you've attained in mastering all you've been through.

I have many mentors of this behavior in my life. You know who you are I have told you. Let me say again, they way you handle your relationships are lesson to me in developing one I in which I choose to persevere! Thank you. Mentors are constant support that aids me in making better decisions even though I may have never talked to you about how you've impacted me.

Love you all,

Jacky

Quote of the day 3/17/2009

"It's never too late to become the person you might have been." - George Elliot

"Never give up, never, never give up." - Winston Churchill

If a trip of a thousand miles begins with just one step and today is never too late to start to be what you want to and be, do what you want to do, or have what you want to have. That means tomorrow is the same. So if you fell off the wagon yesterday, today isn't too late as is tomorrow. Forgive yourself and then, Never give up, never, never give up.

"Yesterday's failures are today's seeds that must be diligently planted to be able to abundantly harvest tomorrow's successes." - Author Unknown

The things in life you personally sacrificed and grew the most for, are the most prized possessions. Be bold in defining what you want and in sacrificing to get it.

My Confession: In the last couple of weeks I have learned that I often do not own or take responsibility for what I want out of life. I become passive and I think I mask this passivity as thought it were humbleness. Or possibly even a caring for others when truly it was a cop out not to have to stand up and act and know as though I deserved what I wanted and that I needed to take the responsibility to attain what I wanted. In preparing for this Quote of the Day by reading through he quotes I may want to share this weakness in myself was revealed. I'll now post these quotes and this writing in a place I'll see for a while to keep this in my awareness so I can work on improving.

Love you all,

Quote of the day 3/14/2209

"You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you." - James Allen

So, this being true, I cannot look anywhere else to blame for what I have in my life right this minute. My current situation/life was created by my imagination, desires, beliefs, basically what I chose to focus on and spend my energy thinking about.

I have a great deal to be thankful for. I also see that I have a great deal to be responsible for. Therefore, I must take the time to identify what I spend my time thinking about and take control of the what takes up the recesses of my mind and create the situations/life I choose to have. I must stop allowing my thoughts to manifest by default and DECIDE what occupies my mind!!!!! As, that is where my tomorrow is obviously created.

Any thoughts?

Love you all,

Quote of the day 3/12/2009

Wisdom requires knowing how little we know. —Marvin Bell, poet

This was a hard lesson for me in my youth cuz I knew it all, just ask my mom. In fact I found not knowing everything pretty incomprehensible. Thankfully, life teaches you, and the more you seem to learn the vastness of what you don't know becomes so apparent. Then next step I found so difficult was that what was relevant and helpful in my life was not relevant or helpful in others lives. Accepting that each road each of us finds to realize our purpose, and how that manifests for each of us is unique and cannot be judged from the outside.

Lessons I still work on today.

Please share your comments.

Quote of the day 3/11/2009

"I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition." Martha Washington

Making the decision to live in a grateful and contented state, becoming responsible for my own disposition has provided me with much more sound and predictable day to day experience. I hope to become more and more in control of my disposition and possibly that may come to alter my circumstances.

What do you think?

Love you all.

Quote of the day 3/10/2009

"Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly."- Robert F. Kennedy

I need to dare much more greatly. I conservatively do, to protect the size of the losses. I must reach higher and take pride act of doing rather than focusing on what I may look like or if I'll see the outcome of my efforts as successful. I must see the act "doing" as success!!! I will work on this.

Self-trust is the first secret of success. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Wow, I need a lot of work here. I trust myself in many areas but a few very important ones I often don't look inside for answers, and when I do I often do not trust the response and will look to others for guidance. Maybe sometimes that's helpful and others I'm not practicing a secret to success!!! Great learning point for me.

Love you all
