Quotation of the day

"Risk and reward are conjoined twins—and that's why my favorite piece of advice needs translation but no disclaimers: Fortes fortuna javat. 'Fortune favors the brave'..."              —  Mary South

Any time in my life I have faced "risk" I hesitate.  Whether this risk be protecting my heart for possible discomfort, NOT IMMINENT discomfort mind you;  or if the situation simply provides an unknown outcome, or if it may be a career or financial risk I hesitate.  Learning to live life inside the boundaries of "protection from potential discomfort" or loss reaps a reward of the same degree.

Those who possess fulfilling and dedicated relationships at some point had to put their fear aside and give all to it, those who have abundant success made a decision that I am sure many criticized in an effort to assure they understood the potential loss.

Keeping their focus on the potential "prize" gave them the opportunity to enjoy it.  I have great passion that I do not allow to flow freely and infiltrate my living from moment to moment.  I want to learn to unleash this passion, risk judgement from others, experience the energy , enthusiasm and exhilaration even the simple moments life has to offer.

Quotation of the Day

"When we blame, we give away our power."           Greg Anderson

I remember when my kids were young I use to say to them, as long as "it" (whatever "it" was) was was some else's fault then they could not solve the problem themselves.  I knew then that this was true however; I don't think I applied it to myself as literally as I was trying to impose it on my children.  No matter the situation, circumstance or area of life you do not like and look elsewhere for the cause, the location of the power that infused this into your life there, in lies the power to fix it.

I want the power to fix anything and everything in my life.  Being dependent on anyone else for something is crippling.  And in this case completely false and ineffective.  So, if I want to be able to create, end or improve something/anything in my life I must look with-in, take the responsibility for and begin my work.

Any comments, please respond.

Love you all,

Quotation of the Day

"Peace of mind comes from not wanting to change others."     Gerald G. Jampolsky

What is that basis for this in our lives?  Is accepting others as they are, truly, the act that delivers us peace that we are accepted for what we are.  Does living the moments of our own lives, turning our attentions inward focusing on our actions, desires, hopes, an act promoting comfort and peace in our own hearts and minds.

Jessica Simpson said in an interview once that is it none her business what other think of her or say about her.  It took me while to grasp her point but I think I'm getting it.  Not only was I surprised to accept that others think of me much less than I think they do it truly is none of my business what anyone thinks.

So, if I not only don't allow myself to assess what I'd change in others, if I take it a step further not spend time assessing their lives and actions and if agree or not and turn all this judgement and assessment inward, I might feel the peace of mind Gerald is referring to.

Any thoughts?

Love you all,
