"Peace of mind comes from not wanting to change others." Gerald G. Jampolsky
What is that basis for this in our lives? Is accepting others as they are, truly, the act that delivers us peace that we are accepted for what we are. Does living the moments of our own lives, turning our attentions inward focusing on our actions, desires, hopes, an act promoting comfort and peace in our own hearts and minds.
Jessica Simpson said in an interview once that is it none her business what other think of her or say about her. It took me while to grasp her point but I think I'm getting it. Not only was I surprised to accept that others think of me much less than I think they do it truly is none of my business what anyone thinks.
So, if I not only don't allow myself to assess what I'd change in others, if I take it a step further not spend time assessing their lives and actions and if agree or not and turn all this judgement and assessment inward, I might feel the peace of mind Gerald is referring to.
Any thoughts?
Love you all,
Jacky
