Quotation of the Day (Poem)

I am sharing a poem with you that my dear friend Barry shared with me and it touched me deeply.  I hope you too receive the gift of universal love and connection this poem gave me.  I am so often in the place of searching for the right answer, direction, guidance and this poem helps define the way to do just that.  When I allow my "search" for direction to be navigated by my mind the response often feel conflicted, confusing and I feel doubtful and frustrated.  The minds connection is to me and my depth of knowledge and understanding.  It is tainted by my ego and dependent on what "others" think.  When I search my soul, its connection is to the universe and if I focus, get quiet with myself and allow myself to trust; the response is typically subtle, and calm; true to me and congruent with my purpose.

Search your soul:  It is convenient; you always have it with you, it is true and calls from the eternal source.

Here is the poem by James Kavanaugh' from his book of poetry titled: There Are Men Too Gentle To Live Among Wolves.

In the Center Of Your Soul

There is quiet water
In the center of your soul
Where a son or daughter
Can be taught what no man knows

There's a fragrant garden
In the center of your soul
Where the weak can harden
And a narrow mind can grow

There's a rolling river
In the center of your soul
An eternal river
With a rich and endless flow

There's a land of muses
In the center of your soul
Where the rich are losers
And the poor are free to go

So remain with me , then,
      To pursue another goal
And to find your freedom
In the center of your soul

Quotation of the Day

"Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious."       —  Ruth Reichl

I know that Ruth is a referring to "food" here but doesn't this also make a most wonderful way to live our lives.  Taking the time to "taste" the  special nuggets served up every day?  A friend extending effort to make you feel better, feeling and taking in every moment of your grandchild's first steps, the joy in observing others just being themselves, feeling the tepid fall air, observing  the wispy clouds stretch across the sky, the comfort of the roof over your head, seeing another in need and providing support.  We all know the satisfied feeling of a task completed especially if it well done.  A friend sharing wondrous experiences from afar; magnificent.  It is all wonder, isn't it?  A constant dance, the forever motion of humans, in connection, solo.

Quotation of the Day

Beset by a difficult problem? Now is your chance to shine. Pick yourself up, get to work and get triumphantly through it.    Ralph Marston

Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it.   Ralph Marston

Hello, I have missed writing.  These quotations were especially personal today.  As an independent person recent events have pointed out, again, my natural resistance to accepting or asking for help in certain situations in my life.  In many cases independence is healthy and necessary however, there are times when unwillingness or inability to ask for help and accept support or aid when needed can create unhealthy circumstance and generate fear in building healthy mutually fulfilling relationships where both parties need to be needed.  For this I must bring myself to face my fears, putting myself in situations where I openly express my need for others; shining the light on my weakness to do just as the quotation says; Shine, get to work and triumph.

Through out my life there have been those people who have overlooked my weaknesses and been there for me unconditionally.  To those I dedicate my second quotation.  May I take this moment to thank you expressing extreme gratitude for your presence in my life and loving me for my attributes and forgiving my less attractive qualities.
